At Whites Landing, our goal is to establish a marine science institute for youth, offer ocean eco-tours, provide world-class glamping experiences, and host special events for families. Every program we offer is deeply committed to sustainability and raising awareness about Catalina Island and its surrounding marine environment.

Since 1997, Mountain and Sea Educational Adventures (MSA), under the visionary leadership of Annie and Fran Tablas MacAulay, has served over 150,000 participants. However, due to the limited availability of land on the island, MSA has been operating on a year-to-year lease for 26 years. We are thrilled to announce that the Catalina Island Conservancy is releasing a long-term lease at Whites Landing, ranging from 20 to 75 years, depending on design and capital. Our nonprofit aims to win the bid for this lease, and we invite you to be part of our journey.

We humbly request your partnership during this exciting time of creating a lasting legacy. Together, we can develop a destination that is both sustainable and multigenerational, benefiting families and future generations for decades to come. Our mission is to “Make World Changing Adventurers that Love and Steward the Earth,” and with your support, we can cultivate even more individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on our planet.

This project involves a competitive RFP bidding process, and we are confident in our vision and expertise to successfully execute this once-in-a-lifetime legacy project. However, the necessary capital is the missing piece. We are seeking pledges for the next four years, starting from the fourth quarter of 2023 through the fourth quarter of 2027. The project requires a commitment of $500,000 per year.

We invite donors to contribute in the following ways: 3-5 donors to contribute $50,000 to $150,000, 10 donors to contribute $10,000, and 50 donors to contribute $500 to $1,000. Whites Landing has received minimal investment over the past decades, and it now deserves significant infrastructure to fulfill its potential as a world-class retreat center.
